SHS Surf Club Beach Cleanups!
|
For
both the purposes of fundraising and making our beaches a cleaner and
safer place for all, the Satellite High School Surf Club has decided
to dedicate time and energy toward removing the garbage that some rather
unscrupulous individuals toss in the ocean or simply discard on the
sand.

We
dig tons of glass bottles out of the dunes before they can become jagged
shards that slice little kids' feet open. We rake the sand around the
boardwalk to find and remove already broken glass.

|
Some trash is big, some is small . . . . it all adds up. We often fill up half a dozen trash bags within 20 minutes on a 50-yard stretch of beach, not including a carload of nail-filled lumber.
